Land Training
Many studies have shown that land training, coupled with a structured swimming training programme will improve overall performance, in addition to bringing added benefits like injury reduction.
Land training can take various forms, from circuit training to develop anaerobic capacity and core stability to weight training which builds strength in specific muscle groups.
However, land training doesn’t need just be associated with a gym. A bike ride which raises the heart rate for an extended period of time, a 5km run or basic bodyweight exercises (push-ups, sit-ups, lunges etc), when conducted regularly will also contribute to improved performance.
Unfortunately, there are no land training sessions available at the moment, but some should be introduced shortly.
