Kiera and Emily in the Medals |
|
Well done to Kiera McNally and Emily Ridout who both won trophies at the City of Coventry Sprints Meet on Saturday 20th September.
Some fantastic performances from Kiera, swimming for the first time in a 50M pool, saw her win the 9 years 50M freestyle, 2.20 seconds clear of her closest rival. After swimming in butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke races her aggregate times were good enough to put her into the evening 200 IM finals where in a fantastic race, she finished in second place, a mere five one hundredths of a second behind the first place swimmer. Emily put in a strong performance to finish in second place in the 15/yrs and over 50M freestyle with Dunstable’s Laura Condon and Lucy Breeden also finishing in the top eight. In all Dunstable took 30 swimmers to the Coventry meet this year. Many swimmers came away with much improved personal best times and Kiera McNally, Emily Ridout, Laura Condon, Emily Trudgian and Joe Geraerts all made the evening finals, Joe finishing just outside the medals by one hundredth of a second. |
