Summer Break

After a tough year, both swimmers and coaches deserve a well earned rest and so the club will be closing for three weeks this summer from the 2nd August to the 22nd August. The last session will be Sunday 1st August and the first session back will be Monday 23rd August.

Enjoy your summer and we look forward to seeing you refreshed in September for another year of swimming!

Flitwick Open Meet

Swimmers are encouraged to attend the Flitwick Open Meet which will take place on the 16th and 17th October 2010 at the Saxon Pool in Biggleswade. Entry forms are available from the Flitwick Dolphins website http://www.flitwickdolphins.com/html/index.shtml.

All entries have been received. If you have not handed your entries in to the club you will now have to do this by yourself. Details of how to are posted on the Flitwick website.

NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED!

This Open will be a good opportunity to gain experience in the pool which is used in the Beds County Championships as well as getting used to racing situations in a competitive environment.

Fisk Flying High!
img049_2.jpgDunstable Swimming Club’s Chris Fisk recently competed at the DSE National swimming Championships at Ponds Forge Sheffield representing the Eastern Region team.

Competing in the S17 class he accepted the challenge of nine individual events in the weekend, as well as being relied upon to anchor the regions relay team.

Chris clearly performs best under pressure as against a large field of competitors he collected Gold medals for each of his individual events. Leaving the best until last, Chris reduced the Championship record for 50 metre freestyle by over a quarter of a second.

This performance marks a third year when Chris has been unbeaten at National events in his classification
