Chiltern Round 3 – April 2018!

DSC continued their Chiltern League campaign in Round 3 with a fantastic 2nd place position overall! Held at the Tiddenfoot Pool in Leighton Buzzard for this final round and hosted by Dunstable Swimming Club itself. The gala took place on Saturday 21st April 2018.

DSC were swimming against Henley, Hemel Hempstead, Bicester Bluefins and Wycombe.

The gala had a tremendous atmosphere from the outset, and even at the half way point the teams were only separated by a few points. The relays, particularly at the end in the men’s and women’s opens, were very exciting with the Dunstable parents in the spectator gallery in full voice.

The team enjoyed 11 1st place positions and 11 2nd place positions, and with only 2 DQ’s this was a much better and improved final round for DSC, only missing out on 1st place by 2 points – pipped by Hemel Hempstead.

The overall points at the end of the gala were as follows;

1st place – Hemel Hempstead – 192
2nd place – Dunstable – 190
3rd place – Henley – 187

4th place – Wycombe – 166
5th place – Bicester Bluefins – 154

All DSC swimmers tried their very best on the night. Swimmers of the gala went to Kieran Murray and Annabella Vasallo-Todaro for their outstanding contribution to the gala – well done to both of them.

Well done to all Chiltern Swimming League DSC swimmers this year.  The young academy swimmers certainly learnt fast the rules of competition, and by the 3rd round the squad had improved massively.  Congratulations to everyone who helped to nail that 2nd place position.

Thanks also to all the judges, time keepers, team managers, administration staff and all other volunteers who make these galas possible.

DSC will look forward to the Chiltern Swimming League again in 2019.
