Chiltern League 3rd and Final Round – 2019

DSC were once again competing on 6th April for the third and final round of the Chiltern League 2019.  This last round was held at the Aylesbury Vale Pool and we faced the highest scoring teams and therefore the toughest draw of all three rounds.  We were very proud of this fact however, as it meant we had competed well enough in the first two rounds to be in the premier round at the end! DSC did their best on the night and some swimmers competed multiple times – as a small squad this means working very hard! We are thrilled to bits for the overall results, gaining 6th place overall out of 14 teams!

In the 3rd round DSC competed against; Flitwick Dolphins, Witney & District, Leighton Buzzard, Linslade Crusaders, Aylesbury & District and Wycombe & District.

Final scores in this 3rd round were;

1st – Linslade Crusaders – 215

2nd – Witney & District – 212

3rd – Flitwick Dolphins – 199

4th – Leighton Buzzard – 198

5th – Aylesbury & District – 173

6th – Wycombe & District – 166

7th – Dunstable – 155

DSC achieved 5 1st place positions and 3 2nd place positions on the night, but unfortunately fell foul to 4 speeding tickets from going too fast!

Overall the The Chiltern Swimming League Tables were finalised on completion of all 3 rounds and are as follows;

1st – Leighton Buzzard – 801 points

2nd – Witney & District – 795

3rd – Linslade Crusaders – 756

4th – Flitwick Dolphins – 720

5th – Aylesbury & District – 644

6th – Dunstable – 619

7th – Wycombe & District – 603

8th – Bletchley & District – 418

9th – Banbury – 365

10th – Bourne End – 352

11th – Henley – 316

12th – Hemel Hempstead – 306

13th – Buckingham Swans – 215

14th – Kings Langley – 193

Our swimmers of the gala for this evenings event were Liam Murray and Chloe Medlicott for their outstanding contribution to the gala – massive well done to both of these swimmers.

DSC now turn their attentions to Regional Championships taking place in May. Venues are Norwich UEA for the seniors, and Inspire Luton for the juniors – covering both bank holiday weekends.

One more regional qualifying gala is to be held on 20th April at Inspire, where a couple of DSC swimmers are within touching distance of gaining those elusive qualifying times. Good luck to them.
