This was a very important meet to attend, as not only was it the last chance to grab a regional qualifying time for the 14’s and under’s, but also those in the national window for qualifying times needed to attend as well.

DSC’s last Splash Night of 2017 was a terrific event, well attended and tremendously competitive. Held at the Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre on 25th November 2017, our swimmers competed in the 50m and 100m events only. This last Splash also had an extra very exciting dimension to it, in the shape of an IM skins. In order to qualify competitors had to swim the 50m freestyle event, and the fastest 6 swimmers went through to the IM skins final. The stroke swum was picked randomly and a different one was picked through each elimination round. To get the eventual winner, swims had to show not just speed and technical skill but also huge stamina to get to the final round. Sam Mead and Rhianne Carrick were the eventual winners showing immense determination and resilience – well done to you both.

Junior League Round 3 – 2017
DSC continued their Junior League campaign in earnest at the Milton Keynes & District Junior Swimming League competition at the Hemel Hempstead Pool on 9 September 2017. Experience of the 1st and 2nd rounds definitely paid off for our less experienced junior’s, as we achieved a very respectable 4th place position overall, in a very competitive environment in a higher league. This final round was a massive ask on the youngsters, as it was the first gala back after the long summer break, and the teams that competed were of an extremely high calibre. Really very well done to all that competed.
DSC’s 2017 Summer Round-UP!
The end of the summer has been incredibly busy for DSC’s athletes as they have travelled all over the UK competing in long distance, open water, Aquathlons and walks with some fantastic results. August is historically a wind down month, where training in the pool still takes place but the competition period has finished. However, DSC’s swimmers never allow the grass to grow under their feet, and instead made the most of their skills and competed very successfully on many levels…
