Bee Allen Trophy Gala 2019!

DSC have recently competed for the Bee Allen Trophy that was hosted by Dunstable but held at the Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre in Leighton Buzzard on Saturday 7th September 2019. Bee Allen was of course a great coach herself teaching well over a 1000 swimmers in Dunstable to swim, so the gala is always one that the swimmers enjoy and put maximum effort into.

The Bee Allen gala was an A grade gala, so swimmers were able to swim to the maximum without worrying about swimming too fast! Six teams were competing on the night these were; Potters Bar, Leighton Buzzard, Berkhamsted, Kings Langley, Aylesbury and Dunstable.

The standard of swimming from all teams was absolutely outstanding on the evening, finishing with the unbelievably exciting Cannon relay. Overall it was a great performance from Dunstable, clocking up 3 1st places, and 10 second places and coming 4th overall.

Final points of the gala were as follows;

1st Leighton Buzzard = 228 points
2nd Potters Bar = 227 points
3rd Aylesbury = 223 points
4th Dunstable = 180 points
5th Berkhamsted = 138 points

6th Kings Langley = 53 points

Congratulations to Leighton Buzzard on their very tight win (it was a real nail biter to the end) and to everyone that competed on the night, DSC really value your support at these events.

Swimmers of the gala went to James Shaw and Skylar Alderson for their spectacular swimming on the night and their contribution to the gala. The Bee Allen Trophy Gala was presented to Leighton Buzzard Swimming Club by Bee’s daughter Chrissie Alderman.

DSC’s main focus on the autumn is always the National Arena League. This year it starts in Tamworth for DSC on 12th October 2019.
