DSC – Summer Training Schedule!
Following a very busy season we are now approaching the summer school holidays. As a club we are committed to providing a well-rounded schedule for all our swimmers, one which will enthuse and encourage our swimmers whilst focussing on developing skills. Therefore Tim has been working on a summer training schedule, a link for this schedule is below for your convenience.
The summer schedule is designed around workshops, and therefore we are sharing the session aims and objectives for all squads (excluding Academy – which will continue as normal throughout the summer). You will see from the schedule that we are aiming for development through fun, and we are making the most of the lights and music we have available at St Albans! We hope that the schedule will inspire and motivate our swimmers after the long season.
You will notice that we have not included Lealands Pool or Sir Herbert Leon pool in the schedule, this is due to the schools decision to close for the 6 week summer holiday period. You will also notice that we have increased pool time for some and reduced pool time for others, this is to allow for a more balanced programme over the summer, and allows some of our squads some important rest time. We are also introducing a rota for the summer 6 weeks in our 50 metre pool at Luton Inspire, providing an opportunity for long course training.
In addition to the changes to our pool programme, over the summer months we are introducing land training. This will be provided free of charge and is an additional training opportunity. We are working on the schedule for this and will provide you with times and locations etc within the next 10 days.
If you have any questions about the new schedule or the land training please do not hesitate to contact Tim or a member of the committee who will be happy to help.
Thank you and on behalf of the committee I hope you have a fantastic summer.
